to heat or not to heat
Hello!
just bought an 02 Tahoe at auction. only thing wrong is no heat. a/c works great, fan blows low med and high. radiator full no sign of leaks and heater hoses feel hot.
anyone else have a similar problem might enlighten me to their solution?

It might be the thermostat. I had this happen to me on a previous car I owned. The thermostat was stuck in the open position so the car was running coldand I got no heat. Froze my *** off in the winter until I fixed it.

I agree with dzonen, it could very well be the thermostat. Same here froze my butt off driving home and then decided to try and figure it out and found out it was a simple fix and I felt like a ****.

RE: to heat or not to heat
Hi Guys!!
Thanks for taking the time to think about my heater issue. Thought about the thermostat but it was running at normal operating temp and plenty of coolant. Kinda embarassed at what the solution was but maybe by sharing this someone else won't have to spend days muttering bad words to their Tahoe before fixing it like me.
Turns out there is an electrical connector close to the floor on the transmission hump. This connector had come loose and is responsible for controling the flow of water thru the heater core. So plugged it back in and heater and a/c work as they are supposed to. Attaching a pic of this connector as well

Great work! Nothing better than the feeling of solving the problem.
It looks like there is a provision for a retainer screw (right above your fingernail) to prevent the connector from coming unplugged but can't really tell.
