Default 2005 Chevy Avalanche Error Code P0449

I read the information below which helped me fix my 2005 Chevy Avalanche. I was getting check engine light. Using my INNOVA 3130 ScanTool the code P0449 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Intermittent was found. I bought a replacement part from Autozone, Duralast PV485 Purge Valve Selenoid for $24.00 + tax.
There are two connections and one mounting point. The electrical connector with a plastic tab release and a hose connection to tube. The hose has a clamp which must be squeezed to release retaining tabs so that part can be removed.
Some mentioned having to remove the tire stored under the vehicle but I was able to remove/install part without detaching tire on this model (Avalanche 2005).
Thanks for the information and I hope others are successful maintaining their vehicle without the expense of a repair shop (people helping people ... awesome).

Default Noise after replacing the vent valve/solenoid in the evaporative

After replacing the evaporator vent valve/solenoid on a 2007 Suburban I have a noise in the rear of the Surburban that sounds like metal rubbing against metal when someone is sitting in the third seat and the truck hits a bump. Has anyone seen this before? I think it's an installation problem with the evaporator vent valve/solenoid.

Default Same Code

Dealership wants $400 for this simple fix. Found a shop to do it for $150! I'd do it myself but I don't feel like crawling under my Tahoe. Guy on YouTube posted a how-to video. It's on a Suburban but it's still practically the same.

not sure what you are asking but as far as the solenoid vent valve it is in the back of the car you can not miss it. if it is bad be careful when getting the part

I just bought and installed the vent solenoid and canister on my 2008 Avalanche 5.3L flex fuel to solve the dreaded P0449 code with PN CP-606 from O'Reilly. It has all the parts needed to upgrade to the SB. So far, no ECL after erasing the code. I also bought the purge solenoid and will install it if the ECL comes back on.

A few months ago I got an engine light on my 09 Silverado. The code was p04409 I replace the gas cap, Purge vent solenoid, Failed EVAP vent solenoid. It was the evap solenoid. The other day my light came back on so I started checking for leaks thinking that could be the problem now. What could it be I'm lost

Welcome to the forum...
Did you replace the gas cap with an OEM one or a aftermarket one?
Rarely if ever does a gas cap fail... but it is possible for a cheap aftermarket one too...
Clean the rubber seal of the cap and make sure it clicks 3-4 times when you tighten it....
Do not overfill your gas tank, when the pump clicks off, stop filling, if you top off to max, you will ruin the EVAP components.
