Building my Suburban 1980, 1989 or 1991
I like the old style pre 91 I have narrowed my options down to three
a 1980 Burban with 20k on a gm crate motor and a aamco rebuilt tranny 5k ago (TH400) or a 1991 with new fresh paint or a 1989 with amazing paint and good inti but no rebuild motor or tranny
all are sub 4k in price both run good and strong and have the options I want I was planning on rebuilting the engine, tranny, xfer case and both pumpkins anways because I want this truck to be ready by next summer for a whole bunch of family trips my total price is 12k no more no less personally I would like to get an older one and spend the money fixing it up the way I want it) Will be taking this from oregon to Mn to TX to AZ and back again and I don't want to be worried which is why I am going to spent the winter rebuilding anything that is even remotely questionable.
the 1980 needs paint badly (GM cancer) the 1991 has fresh nice paint and a ton of add ons I like but nothing really functional, 1989 has very nice paint you can tell it was well taken care of not a rip or stain anywhere .
A paint Job is about the same price as a engine and tranny so its about a wash, all three have a good lift no blocks all run good and strong no oil leaks good compressions, no noise, shake or wabble 4x4 works all have a 350 two are TBI one is carb

I like the older one but it doesnt matter. The nose pieces are all interchangeable in the latter years so I would get the 91 and get a 78 nose clip from LMC truck.
