Default Rubbing or perhaps bearing noise??

I am really perplexed at diagnosing this issue. Here are the facts:

2003 Suburban 1500, 2WD, LT.

Symptoms:

1. A sound that can best be described as a rubbing type sound when moving.
2. Becomes audible at about 10mph through about 60 or 65.
3. Frequency is SLOWER than wheel rotation speed, but does change linearly with speed. At about 40mph, frequency is probably about 3 rubs per second maybe. At 60, probably about 4 or 5 rubs per second. This is the strange part. If something was rubbing a rotor or if a bearing was bad, I would think that the noise would happen every time the wheel rotates. But, I'm getting several wheel turns per rub.
4. Sound is loudest at 35-40 mph.
5. Sustained right turns on road bends or exit ramps make the sound go away.
6. It seems as though the noise is louder in a coast than at sustained cruise.
7. If accelerating, even slightly, the noise reduces. Let up foot and reestablish a cruise or a coast and noise gets louder.
8. Use of brakes, hard or gentle, has no bearing on the noise.
9. All brakes new...sound existed both before and after brake job.
10. Both UV joints replaced and brand new.
11. I've tried to listen to determine if noise coming from front or rear. But I cannot. Seems to follow me whereever I am.

All the above is true simultaneously. The actual problem causes ALL of these symptoms. I even brought it to a shop and they couldn't figure it out, though they didn't try very hard.

Any help is much appreciated.

Have them check the bearing in your rear differential. i just had to get this fixed on my 08. Dealer told me it would be $2200 got someone to do it for $870. Knock on wood no more noise. The sound I was getting was like a roaring sound. It seems to be a common thing in these trucks. Good luck! Let me know if this helps!

My Tahoe with 215k miles has same issue. Were you able to determine cause and solution?
