Default Shuts off while driving

I ordered a new 2023 Z71 Suburban and after a few days of driving it my backup camera stopped working and a week of driving it my car completely shut off while driving. The service department said the camera part it needs is back ordered and the couldn’t get the shut off to replicate. I also have the illumination package and it rarely works correctly. Just a few days ago after driving it a couple hundred miles it shut off again while driving down the road. Anyone else experiencing this issue??

I don't know much about it. But I would like to learn more. Thank you so much!

I'd be all over the dealership on this one.

Stupid computers - hard to push "control-alt-delete" while you are driving! Please keep us posted. I'll bet this one will take some time to resolve.

this seems to be industry wide with the new displays. Engineering may have updated programming in the works.
no idea on the shut down. if it continues they need to hook up a flight recorder to see what happened when it shut down.

Default Update

I dropped my vehicle off the night it shut off on me, no one from the service department called me so I called around 4:00pm next day for them to tell me they need to keep it for 2 weeks and they didn't have a loaner for me to drive. When I asked what they had figured out with the shut off they said they can’t get it to duplicate and they had driven over 60 miles on my car. I was so mad about them putting so many miles on my car I went to pick it back up. I’m wondering if I should try a different dealership since the one I’m using hasn’t been helpful at all.

No dealership can fix a problem that is not active. they need to duplicate the conditions so the problem will occur. YOU need to make sure they know what the conditions are as you were the driver when it happened. If it occurs after driving...they need to drive it. They don't have a crystal ball.
With no dtc and the problem not happening; where would anyone start diagnosis? if someone driving your vehicle to try to fix it makes you mad...you don't get it.

I explained exactly how it shuts off the 2 times it’s happened. The problem with them trying to find the problem that I am currently having is them putting so many extra miles on my vehicle when I drove it hundreds of miles before it shut off the second time and them trying to keep it for 2 weeks without giving me a loaner. The week I picked it up I had multiple issues with it. If you can’t understand my frustration then you must you’ve obviously never been in the situation I’m in. I have a hard time with spending 90k for a vehicle and it not work and not have people communicating with me where they’re at in finding the problem and expecting me to be able to leave my car that long without something to drive when I have children to get to different schools and multiple sports a week. They got their sale and that’s all they’ve seemed to care about.

they need to do whatever it takes for the problem to happen to be able to fix it. If its drive 200miles...then thats what it is. GM the corporation will pay for a rental. Tell them to keep your vehicle till its fixed. If they can't fix it...lemon law buyback.

You took it into the dealership, did you call the Chevy customer number in the owners manual and complain that they have no loaner? They are the ones who pay for rentals.
