Default 2wd to 4wd

Hello im new in the forum.
I'm looking to buy a 99 Tracker.
i love those little SUVs

The one im checking out is a 2wd 5speed but i really want a 4x4.
im wondering if there's a way to convert into 4wd from a donor car.

Ive done engine swaps before so labor wouldn't be an issue as far as being expesive.
Mainly need to know what's involved to get it done and if its even possible?

I didn't find any other threads if this question has been covered already I apologize.

Thanks in advance

Default A lot of trouble!

Just keep looking for the Tracker that suits you. There are a bunch out there so keep looking. You would end up with a vehicle costing more that's less reliable most likely if you tried to make a 2x into a 4x unless you are a very resourceful, mechanically inclined individual. The way car makers cut corners, a 2x frame & body may not have the mounting bolt holes needed for mounting the extra 4x components. Good luck!

Agree with thepitchpatch. Take your time and find the 4wd that you want. Conversion with be far more troublesome and more expensive than just buying a 4wd Tracker.
