Fuel Sending Unit Locking Ring

Fuel Sending Unit Locking Ring
Looking for any help with the removal of the fuel tank locking ring that secures the fuel sending unit.
I have dropped the fuel tank but cannot remove the locking ring. I have soaked the ring assembly with BB Blaster for two days now and the ring will just not move.
Has anyone ever had this issue and if so how did you get the ring off.
Thanks,
Harley

What kind of vehicle is it? Are you talking about the ring on top of the fuel tank? If so the ring comes off in a counter-clockwise direction. You usually have to use a standard screwdriver and a mallet to get it to move. On some of the trailblazers there is a tab that you have to move out of a notch in order to allow the ring to move counter clockwise.
