Default Pros & Cons on CAI on I6

I have a 2006 Trailblazer. At the present time, I have the K&N drop in filter. I have had the K&N FIPK kits on other vehicles. They were V8's too. Currently, I am getting an average of 16-17 MPG during the winter months, maybe 17-18 during summer months. Would I actually gain anything by installing the full FIPK kit, other than a little different sound from the engine? Just curious to hear what everyones different opinions are on Drop in filter VS FIPK.
