Default Pros and Cons of Boring out a Chevy 350

I'm looking to possibly bore out my Chevy 350 from .040 to .060, and I wanted to hear what some of the pros and cons were. Some have said that boring the engine out that much makes the engine significantly weaker, others say it is fine.

from what ive read (ive only ever gone up to 30 over) you can bore up to 60 without worrying too much, and SOME blocks can even go up to 80. the cylinder walls can easily handle a 40 .

the only con is the expense..

Default over bore

you should be able to do it just keep a eye on the heat when you get it running get the block boiled out good and make shure the cooling system is in good shape .

Larger engine bore means more power and more torque, but at the same time, lower fuel efficiency. Because larger bore takes more air fuel ratio inside the engine. Larger bore of the engine tends to overheat the engine and damage the Engine Components.

Thanks for the feed back, and after doing some looking around, it looks like my most cost effective option is to just buy a short block, so, for now, I think that's what I'm going to go with.
