RE: Uplander thoughts
Makie's is no longer.....Andre Lanou's bought them out. From what I hear, they are going to keep them separate, and take down the fence in between the two and have 1 big lot

That was supposed to be the plan but someone told me the other day that there was a hang-up in the deal, I haven't talked to Brian there for a few weeks, I should drop in and see him.
Hope there still is a GM after all this financial mess comes to a conclusion... uncertain times for sure.
I thought it was funny in Leamington that the Ford and GM dealerships are both called "South Point". Now that's confusing !!

183,000 km also it makes a pitang noise about every 10 seconds in the video. I'm going to try and get under it to see if there is any damage or loose parts.

I had to listen to it again and I heard the pitang...I'm still thinking timing chain is loose. Unfortunately the only way to inspect it is to take the front of the motor off.
Just to rule out something belt driven like a water pump you can take off the serpentine belt and run it for a short amount of time to see if it still makes the noise.

engine noise
So they took a look. Saw and smelled the problem my exhaust line is broken right in between the firewall and the engine itself. They quoted me 3500 dollars to fix and I would rather not pay that. Any suggestions? Should I just buy the parts I need and take it to a local mechanic?
