C50 6×6 Six-Door Is Much More Than A 3D Rendering
While the C50 in these photos is merely a 3D model, its intent is to mock paint schemes for the real thing. Yes, it’s going to be a real thing.
In a world of the biggest and baddest getting bigger and badder every day, we’ve become a bit jaded in the car community. It takes something truly outstanding to really wow a crowd. Showing up in a supercar or a clean classic just doesn’t draw the attention it used to. So, many people are stepping the game up a notch. Several notches, in the case of this insane Chevy C50 truck. While it may only be a rendered design in these photos, it is a real truck that is going to be hitting the roads in the near future.
This design work comes courtesy of Abimelec Arellano, who creates this type of content for his amazing Instagram account. Though most of the stuff you’ll find on his page is a work of fiction and pipedreams, this truck is not one of them. Believe it or not, this insane beast of a truck is being built by Overkill Racing Chassis and Engle Bros Fabrication. A glance at the Overkill Instagram page shows that they are not new to the concept of a 6×6 conversion.
Crazy work of art and dedication
In the post about the C50, Arellano includes a few different color variants for potential paint finishes on this truck. It’s a bit hard to decide which one is the best. Mostly because it’s hard not to like any finish on these beautiful old trucks. Hopefully, they make a decision they are satisfied with, though. They’re going to need a lot of paint.
We can only imagine how long this monster is going to be. The extended cab features six doors to match the number of wheels it has. Furthermore, obviously, they have to go with a long bed. The only thing competing lengthwise on the road with this thing will be semi-trucks and limousines. That’s not a comparison many people get to make, no matter how big their truck is.
The amount of hours that will go into making this truck a reality is mind-boggling. Everything is going to be custom fabricated. The under-body components for the 6×6 conversion, the extension of the cab to accommodate three doors on each side, the extended wheel arches in the rear, and so on. It will be a tiresome adventure. However, based on what we can see on the accounts of the companies involved, it looks like they’re going to be able to pull it off with flying colors.
We can’t wait to see more progress pictures of this build. Furthermore, we can’t wait to see one of these paint schemes come to life.
