55-Mile 1988 Chevy K3500 Silverado

Amazing 1988 Chevy K3500 was purchased new and stashed away with its dealer artwork and interior plastic still intact.

It’s certainly no secret that the classic truck market has exploded in recent years – both in terms of popularity and pricing. We aren’t just talking about classic trucks from the 1950s, 1060s, or even 1970, either – rather, haulers from the ’80s and ’90s are also squarely in the mix. However, we haven’t yet seen anything quite like this amazing, basically brand new 1988 Chevy K3500 Silverado that just hammered at auction for a stunning figure.

GAA Auctions just sold this 1988 Chevy K3500 Silverado 4×4 for a whopping $100,000, in fact, an incredible sum – albeit, for a pretty incredible truck. This big old dually was purchased new at Greenwood Chevrolet in Ford Meade, Florida, and stashed away for reasons unknown, never driven or used in the manner for which it was built. In fact, the truck has just 55 miles on the clock, and the factory interior plastic is still intact, to boot.

This gem of a K3500 still touts its original Doeskin Tan exterior paint that looks to be in perfect condition, which is also the case with the factory wheels and chrome bumpers. Along with tinted glass and a sliding rear window, the window sticker is still attached, showing off the dually’s many options, and dealer artwork from 1988 is still present on the windshield, amazingly enough. Inside, one will find an equally pristine Saddle interior, with power windows, cruise control, and air conditioning.

As for what’s under the hood, that is GM’s 454 cubic-inch fuel-injected V8, sending power to the rear or all four wheels via an automatic gearbox. There’s a heavy-duty battery and an auxiliary battery onboard for extra juice, too. And of course, the factory dealer brochure and owner’s manual remain with the Chevy K3500, as one would imagine.

This 1988 Chevy K3500 is certainly a well-optioned machine, and it’s a pretty incredible story in its own right – even before we consider that massive hammer price. However, it’s pretty clear that the collector car market is hungry for these basically brand new time capsules – the question is, how many of them might there actually be out in the world?

We’d certainly imagine that number is quite low, which will only drive prices further moving forward.
