We Have the New Malibu, What Do You Want to Know?
If you watch any television with commercials at all, you’ve probably seen the latest round of “Real People” commercials that Chevrolet is running. In these, anonymous not-car people are shown a car without the badges. They are asked what they think about the car, and who makes the car. One of the women suggests that the car is a BMW. The truth? The car is the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, and we have one in this week for review.

Our review unit isn’t far off from the one featured in the commercial, as it’s the Premium with the 2LZ package. That includes a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 250 horsepower. Power is sent to the front wheels exclusively with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Our review car is mostly-loaded, minus the panoramic sunroof. We have support for both Apple Car Play and Android Auto, radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, emergency braking, and more. The price? $34,285 including the $875 destination charge.
Throughout the week we’ll put it through our standard testing procedures, including a fuel economy run. According to the EPA, this Malibu is rated at 33mpg on the highway. We’ll test that claim and more. In the meantime, we want to know what questions you have!
Feel free to ask in the comments below, or discuss the new Malibu over in our forums!
