If you want a new Corvette, but you worry that it won’t be practical enough for you, Callaway has you covered. The company unveiled it AeroWagon concept back in 2013, and now it is officially taking orders for the conversion. We don’t have a price yet, but we do have some details on how it works.

The new roof is built from carbon fiber to save weight, and miraculously it reuses a lot of the original GM hardware to ensure a perfect fit. The original seal, hinge and latch are all used, so in the future you could even swap it back to a standard coupe if you wanted. Of course, why would you ever want to un-wagonize such an awesome machine? As an extra bonus to using all the original mounts and seals, the targa panel in the roof can still be pulled out for open top motoring fun. It doesn’t get better than that folks.

AeroWagenwebpageWay back in 2013 after it was announced, Callaway mentioned pricing could be in the 20-25k range, so it certainly won’t be cheap, but I think many people would consider a shooting brake with crossed flags nearly priceless. I could take the damn thing camping and even have room for my dogs in it! If you did this to your Z06, you have room for your track tires in the back. The possibilities are endless.

Deliveries expected near the end of the year, so get your order in now if you want to have one before next year’s track season.
