Retired Cop Wins Big at Cleveland Auto Show
Cleveland cop turned his key and unlocked brand-new Chevy Cruze prize.
Everyone knows the classic car giveaway contest. People are handed keys to a brand new car, and they’re given the chance to turn the key. If the car door unlocks, then you win! For most people, the joy of hearing that door unlock when they turn that key will elude them. However, recently Richard Campbell turned his key and heard the door unlock, and he’ll never forget that feeling.
“How do I feel? I feel great, that’s how I feel. I just won a car! There’s really no way to describe how I feel,” said Campbell, speaking to Cleveland.com after he won a brand new Chevrolet Cruze at the Cleveland Auto Show.
The retired police officer, who spent 29 years as part of the Cleveland Police Department, was one of nine lucky people who were picked to be part of the finals of the Cleveland Auto Show’s official “Vehicle Giveaway Contest.” The prize was a brand new Chevrolet Cruze Premier, fully specced out. Campbell eventually won the $25,000 vehicle and couldn’t be happier. The car couldn’t come at a better time for the retiree, as he plans on using it everyday. “I’m going back to work, so this car will come in real handy,” he added.
‘How do I feel? I feel great. I just won a car! There’s really no way to describe how I feel.’
The Cruze Premier comes loaded with all the bells and whistles. Campbell will be driving around Cleveland in style with his new car that includes an upgraded suspension, chrome exterior accents, ambient interior lighting, illuminated vanity mirrors, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a larger eight-inch touchscreen and a nine speaker Bose audio system.
The Cruze is a special vehicle to give away at the auto show. As Ken Ganley, chairman of the Cleveland Auto Show, explains, “This is a $25,000 automobile–it doesn’t get much better than that. I know you will enjoy owning and driving this exceptional vehicle that represents the very best of the Chevrolet Cruze lineup. Best of all, you’ll also be driving a vehicle that is built right here in Ohio.”
For Campbell, the winning the vehicle marks the first step in the next stage of his life, and he’ll never forget the feeling of turning that key.
