1966 Chevy C10 ‘Unruly’ Is a Mind-Blowing Modern Build

By -

Chevy build is a classic example of how quickly a simple project can turn into a stunning showpiece.

In reality, most builds as incredibly over the top as this 1966 Chevy C10 start out that way. But we’ve also seen plenty of instances where they begin with modest intentions and simply balloon into stunning show pieces. And that’s exactly the case with this modern interpretation of a vintage Chevy truck. It went from a basic driver build to a polished jewel, quite literally mid-build.

YouTuber ScottieDTV was lucky enough to catch up with the builder while the truck was on display at the 2017 Goodguy’s PPG Nationals and get the scoop on it. He admits that the owner wanted a driver, but that build “quickly rolled over.” That’s certainly one way to put it. But at least this polished jewel is being driven, with a few miles on the odometer already.

We’ll get to the incredible exterior in a moment, but first we’d like to point out the beautiful Roadster Shop chassis this thing sits on. Thankfully a portion of the bed lifts up because otherwise, no one would ever be able to see the artfully crafted goods underneath. The blown LS7 under the hood likewise serves two purposes – provide a boat load of power while looking like a true work of art.

Speaking of art, it’s safe to say that the body is the work of a true metal craftsman. Just look at those hand crafted fender wells, purposely designed to hide the tires tucked up inside of them. The flush fit glass even sports dots designed to make it look like a new vehicle. Inside, the builder admits their intentions were to “make the interior look like a newer Chevy pickup,” even sporting a Silverado console. And boy, does it ever. Look like the kind of newer Chevy pickup we want to buy, that is.

Considering the sheer number of Chevy C10 builds out there, it’s getting harder to come up with something truly unique. But we’ve never seen anything like “Unruly,” the build that quickly escalated from humble intentions. And we’re sure glad it did.
