Chevy K30 3+3

Prepare to make new friends and build a bigger garage, because this stunning Chevy K30 is one big pile of want.

In the old days, the truck buying public didn’t have much need for a four-door pickup. Regular cabs ruled the roost, and the sales charts as a result. Today, it still seems somewhat strange to even see something like a box Chevy with more than two doors. And for good reason – they’re pretty darn rare. At least, this 1979 Chevy K30 3+3 certainly is. But it’s also perhaps the nicest example of the breed you’ll ever see!

We spotted the gorgeous, elongated pickup over at Grand Rapids Classics, where it recently went to a new home. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is probably a matter of opinion. For us, it’s certainly a good thing, because temptation is an evil mistress. And what’s more tempting that a meticulously restored box Chevy? Not much!

Pretty much everything on the truck, from the trim to the drivetrain, is original. The seller claims there’s only 96k original miles on the chassis, and it certainly shows. The truck also sports a 350 small block, probably a bit underpowered for this gargantuan beast, but that’s perfectly fine. It’s all about cruising in something like this, anyway. Behind the legendary V8 resides a 4-speed manual transmission and dual gas tanks for highway cruising.

With convenient goodies like power steering and disc brakes, we’re guessing the super-long ride isn’t too hard to navigate around your local drive through, either. Which you’ll probably want to do often, with family and/or friends in tow. Owning something this rare and unique is bound to draw a ton of attention, after all. Good thing there’s plenty of room in the back!

So maybe it isn’t such a bad thing that another buyer beat us to the punch. Heck, it’s not like this stunning Chevy K30 would fit in our garage, anyway!
