Immaculate 1991 Chevrolet Suburban Might Be Texas’ Best Kept Truck
The Chevrolet Suburban is the longest-running nameplate in the United States. Kickin’ it since 1935, it’s really not even close, which is why seeing a 1991 still sort of seems like it’s in its younger years. But it’s not, it’s a 26-year-old car, which makes this incredibly clean version quite rare.
This exact vehicle is a 1991 Suburban in Silverado trim, and it has a great little background story. The current owner inherited the Suburban in 2014 from his grandparents. They purchased it brand new with all the trimmings and planned to use it as a Sunday vehicle on drives to church in Fredericksburg, Texas. But as the now-owner explains, the grandparents realized that if they were going into town, they might as well pick up other things, which required the other ranch truck. Thus, it only had 78,000 miles when they passed away.
This Suburban has the 350 V8 with the automatic overdrive transmission, power steering, power brakes, chrome upgrades, air condition in the front and rear, VELOUR interior (sorry, got excited), rear window defrosters, premium Delco am/fm radio with cassette, two-tone paint, and alloy wheels. Every. Trimming.
If that weren’t great enough, the person who inherited it is an automotive engineer. There was no rust, but a few things here and there needed buttoning up. So, since the inheritance, the car has received new fluids, new Michelins, water pump, alternator, hoses and belts, 02 sensors, Monroe Magnum shocks, new windshield, battery, new u-joints in the drive shaft, refilled AC, and the radio was literally sent to Delco for service. Repeat: This is a gem.
It’s for sale on Hemmings for $15,000.
