Chevrolet Silverado Receives Select Mods That Make It a True All-Rounder
Owner of this 2018 Chevrolet Silverado wanted to make it stand out, as well as more capable.
It’s no secret that trucks are some of the most popular vehicles to modify in the world today, and there’s a good reason for that – there are plenty of mods for pickups that increase their capability, utility, and general usefulness. That was precisely the goal with this 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, which is owned by Robert Veilleux, who recently sat down for an interview with the parts-selling experts at American Trucks, which also happened to be his one-stop shop for all of these upgrades.
Veilleux grew up on a farm, so he wanted a truck for its capability, though he found the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado to be a bit plain in stock form. So to make it a bit more useful and unique, he started by adding a set of AmpPower Power Step running boards, which provide a step when needed but then retract away from potential damage when they aren’t needed. Next up, Veilleux replaced the stock, very red taillights with a set of Axial Black LED taillights that are both brighter and more concentrated in addition to looking great.
Most every truck owner on the planet winds up buying a tonneau cover, and Veilleux went with a Tonno Pro TonnoFold soft tonneau cover for his Silverado that he admittedly loves. But he wasn’t afraid to go with some unorthodox mods either, including MSD Blaster Series ignition coils, which helped the truck’s fuel economy and gave it more mid- and top-end power to boot.
In that same veil, Veilleux also upgraded his ride with a Volant closed box cold-air intake with a MaxFlow 5 oil filter, an Airaid PowerAid throttle body spacer, and a Pedal Commander Bluetooth throttle response controller to up the fun quotient a bit and make the truck nicer to drive.
To cap off his build, Veilleux also went with a Covercraft UVS100 custom windshield sunscreen, an RBP RX-2 locking fuel door, a chrome tailgate handle cover, and a Weather Tech stone and bug deflector. Altogether, Veilleux’s goal with this 2018 Chevrolet Silverado was to make it stand out from the crowd while also enhancing its usefulness and capabilities, and judging by what we can see in this video, he accomplished all of that with flying colors.
