Allow Your Chevy to Cause Some 'Truck Mayhem,' Sept. 21

While most of the country gets ready for fall, California’s Irwindale Speedway will rock with Chevy trucks, live music, and more!

Southern California is a car lover’s dream for many of us, mainly because the weather is consistent year-round. Thus, we don’t have to worry about putting away our custom Chevy trucks and SUVs when the cooler seasons come around to avoid things like salted roads and snow. Those things are just not an issue here.

Therefore, while the outdoor car show season may be wrapping up soon around most of the country, organizers SoCal Trucks will be welcoming autumn with a Chevy half-ton of Truck Mayhem, set for Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California, September 21, from noon to 8 p.m.

The family friendly event is open to all ages, and any and all Chevy trucks and SUVs who’d like to come down and strut their stuff. For starters, if your truck is built for racing, you’ll be able to do just that on the circuit’s dragstrip. The sight of big Silverados throwing down against Fords, Dodges, and the rest of the reindeer already has us giddy with excitement.

If smoking meat is more your jam, you’ll be able to do that in your Tahoe, too. Truck Mayhem has a pit just for barbecuing your fat rear rubbers to a fine white cloud of delicious smoke better than any burning pile of fallen leaves. Just keep the burnouts to the pit, though, or you’ll wind up being booted from all of the fun, and the local police will clock ya with a citation, too. Definitely not good eats.

Should neither of those activities appeal to you, or you just want to chill on the sidelines, you can show off your custom Chevy with all of the other Chevys in attendance at the Truck Mayhem truck show. There will also be lots of food to enjoy, and live music will fill the air all through the day.

Tickets to Truck Mayhem start at $20 for general admission, $60 for racing your Chevy, and $80 for showing it off; children under 12 enter free with accompanying adult. You can follow along on the official Instagram, as well as the SoCal Truck’s Facebook and Instagram channels.
