Big Turbo “Paint Truck” Tahoe is the Ultimate Sleeper
No one suspects the Tahoe. It’s an big, common, and kinda clumsy SUV that is better known for clambering over rocks than leaving cars in it’s dust. Cops won’t give it a second look. In other words: it’s the perfect sleeper.
The 4L80E is a decent motor, but hardly as famous as the LS and typically underutilized by racers just because it doesn’t make power as easily. It’s a workhorse. In this case, it’s a workhorse with a 75mm turbo pushing 16psi on E85. While the lettering on the sides would lead you to believe this work truck is only good for moving paint, the reality is it is much better at simply hauling huge amounts of ass.
Aston Martins? Mustangs? Integras? Cadillacs? Like sheep before wolves. They never knew what was coming. What I would love to see is what kind of times this thing traps on the quarter mile. Roll racing is one thing, but getting the weight moving from a dig is a totally different animal.
