2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Driver gets 310 miles on a single charge as Chevy touts that Bolt owners have driven over 4.5 million miles, saving 175,000 gallons of fuel.

Not everyone who wants a new Chevy Bolt EV is able to get their hands on it yet, unfortunately. However, for the almost 3,500 owners of the Bolt EV, they’re definitely using them. Chevrolet just released some numbers associated with those driving Bolt EVs, as of April 2, and they’re pretty staggering.

Since December 2016, when the first Bolt EVs were beginning to be delivered, owners have driven their Bolt EVs 4,570,300 miles. That’s a lot of driving! According to Chevy, the average Bolt EV owner drives approximately 53 miles a day, showing that the owners aren’t just using this vehicle for long trips, but as a daily driver.

‘Chevrolet committed to delivering a game-changing vehicle
and we’ve done just that.’

The over 4.5 million miles driven breaks down to more than 175,000 gallons of fuel saved based on an estimated 26 mpg. Chevy also reveals that one owner recently got 310 miles on a single charge, which is a new record for the vehicle. Impressive!

“Our early Bolt EV customers are proving the crossover’s functionality, flexibility and long-range capabilities on a daily basis,” said Steve Majoros, Chevy’s Director of Marketing. “Chevrolet committed to delivering a game-changing vehicle and we’ve done just that. As we continue our national rollout of the Bolt EV, we’re making electric driving accessible to even more drivers.”

Factory deliveries of Bolt EV are currently available in California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Washington and Virginia. The Bolt EV will be available nationwide by this summer.
