<em>Chevrolet Forum</em>'s Best Bow Tie Moments of 2019

Chevrolet Forum covered a lot of exciting stories in 2019. Here are the most memorable Chevy moments that defined one helluva year!

Do you feel that? We sure do. It’s the excitement of holiday cheer and a fresh start on January 1st. But before we hang up a new calendar on the wall, Chevrolet Forum thought to take a look back at an amazing year. We had one standout highlight, with the official debut of the mid-engine C8 Corvette (and its convertible sibling). We also had some great trucks to celebrate as well.

From old to new, there was so much that happened through the year. We picked out a few of our favorites. The stories you see here aren’t in any order, and don’t even begin to scratch the surface of news and member rides that took place through the year. If you had a great story this year, feel free to share it with us!

2019 Colorado ZR2 Duramax Diesel: 5 Reasons It Bests the Competition

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

One of the things we like most about Chevrolet trucks is the availability of a diesel, especially in the Colorado. Even better is the ZR2 equipped Colorado, which we got our hands on earlier in the year. In terms of mid-size trucks, it beats the Tacoma in off-road capability, and with the diesel, is far more efficient, too.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado Takes Daytona by Storm

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

The 2019 edition of the Daytona 500 saw a lot of excitement for the Silverado. Not only did that truck get to be the official pace vehicle for the race, but for the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, Chevrolet debuted what their new race truck would look like.

Groovy 1970 Chevrolet C10 Pickup is Restored & Ready to Go

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

There’s nothing quite like a well-restored C10, and this 1970 pickup is one of the best we’ve seen. With new and better equipment around, its often you’ll see trucks like this: a faithful restoration, but upgraded carefully. It still feels classic, but is a lot easier to live with on a daily basis.

2019 Corvette Grand Sport to Pace 103rd Indianapolis 500

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

While the Silverado got NASCAR’s biggest race, the Corvette was the star of the worlds biggest motorsport event. Leading the field to a green flag at this year’s Indianapolis 500 was a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport. Long Beach Red was the chosen color, hinting at Chevrolet’s continual love for IndyCar racing.

Chevy Heaven & Raising Hell at 2019 LS Fest West

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

One of our favorite events all year has to be LS Fest. In this event, LS Fest West, we got to see the usual drag racing, and more, but it was the burnouts that brought out our inner 16 year old. The great part about this event is the wide variety to approach a build. N/A? Supercharged? Big turbo? All are represented here.

General Motors Investing $24 Million to Expand Pickup Production

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

Expanding operations is always a good thing. GM announced a 24 million dollar investment in their truck plant located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This plant makes the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado. High demand has necessitated the influx of cash, as more and more GM products get sent to dealers.

All-new C8 Corvette to Make its Show Debut at Corvettes at Carlisle

2019 year review Chevrolet Forum

One of the biggest news stories of the year is arguably the debut of the mid-engined C8 Corvette. A mid-engined corvette has been teased since the C3 generation, but finally its here, and its ready to embarrass many more expensive machines on track. And, just a few months after this debut, we got the convertible, too!
