Chevrolet is one of the few automakers to show loyal owners some love by inviting them to special events. To kick off the first race weekend of the season at Texas Motor Speedway, Chevrolet invited 25 Texas Truck Legends members to join the automaker on the racetrack for a VIP experience and 77-year-old Paul Dooley was one of the lucky few, reports Athens Daily Review.

Dooley, who’s owned numerous Chevrolet pickup trucks, is from Athens, Texas, and got to participate in the special event. According to the report, Dooley applied to join Chevrolet’s Truck Legends program when it first started, because he wanted to stay loyal to the automaker.

Being loyal to Chevrolet clearly paid off for members of the Truck Legends program, as they attended the O’Reilly Auto parts 500 Race last month, met with Kasey Kahne, a Chevrolet NASCAR driver, and got a behind-the-scenes tour of the track, reports the outlet.

‘They had 70 or so of the Chevrolet pickups. They took us around and picked up one of the NASCAR drivers and drove us around for the fans to see.’

“They let us see the new vehicles,” Dooley said. “I got to ride in a new Impala.” In addition to being able to drive the sedan, the members also got to get behind the wheel of the new Silverado. “I think they had 70 or so of the Chevrolet pickups,” said Dooley. “They took us around, and they picked up one of the NASCAR drivers, and drove us around for the fans to see the driver.”

Getting to meet a NASCAR driver and driving around Texas Motor Speedway is something that these members will probably never forget. And for those of us out there that are a little jealous, signing up for Chevrolet’s Truck Legends program is pretty simple. All you have to do, is have a truck with more than 100,000 miles on it or have leased or purchased two or more pickups from Chevy, reports Athens Daily Review.

There is a downside, though, as the program is currently only available to Chevy owners in Texas. It’s not something to worry about, as Chevrolet has plans to expand to more states in the near future. Hey, who said sticking to one brand can’t pay off?
