‘Diesel Brothers’ to Modify Miguel Cabrera’s 2016 Silverado
Detroit Tigers’ first baseman and other sports stars to be featured in two-part special on Discovery Channel, June 19 and 22.
Discovery Channel’s Diesel Brothers, starring “Heavy D” and “Diesel Dave,” sees the pair and their crew turn regular trucks into incredible machines. Usually, the show features the crew buy a broken down, used truck and transform it into something amazing. Things have gone extraordinarily well for the crew, and now high-profile enthusiasts want to get their trucks customized by the team.
In fact, Miguel Cabrera, who just happens to be the first baseman for the Detroit Tigers, will get his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado customized by the Diesel Brothers. The special showcase will be a two-part episode titled “Diesel Brothers: The Doubleheader.” And for lovers of baseball, the special will have two more guests: Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez and Carlos Pena, former first baseman for the Tigers.
Baseball fans won’t want to miss this episode, which premieres on June 19, with the second part of the special set to air on June 22.
“I was excited to have the Diesel Brothers build a truck for me because my grandfather was a mechanic in Venezuela and my dad likes to watch the show,” says Cabrera in a teaser clip for the episodes. “I told Heavy D and Diesel Dave I wanted something big and powerful to auction off to raise money for my foundation.”
Leave it up to Cabrera to do something extremely generous for his foundation, which is aptly named the Miguel Cabrera Foundation, during a first-time partnership between the Discovery Channel and MLB Network. The build hopes to get people psyched for the 88th All-Star Game that takes place on Saturday July 9 and if it’s anything like the show’s other builds, it’ll be insane.
