Chevy C/K crew cab pickups are a rare sight these days. But that didn’t stop at least one guy from turning one into a sweet street machine!

These days, you’ll have a hard time finding anything but a crew cab pickup on dealer lots. After decades of regular cab love, we’ve simply evolved as a society. Today, pickups serve as multi-purpose vehicles, capable of not only hauling stuff, but people as well. But it obviously wasn’t always that way. Four-door pickups were once an anomaly, produced in tiny numbers by automakers. Which is probably why the sight of this 1965 Chevy C/K crew cab has you scratching your head.

It’s also why the elongated hot rod caught our eye while perusing the classifieds of The Classic Car Network. Sure, we know that Chevy produced crew cab pickups back in this era. But you so rarely see them that it still looks, well, strange. Almost like something that was hand built from two regular cabs. But this, folks, is a real deal Chevy C/K crew cab. And it’s one that somebody decided to take to the next level.

It all starts under the hood, where you’ll find a modern LS and 4L60 transmission. It’s more than enough to power the extra long truck, which sits on the ground thanks to an air ride setup. And allows the fenders to partially cover those massive Billet Specialties wheels and Mickey Thompson steamrollers. Cobalt Blue and Pewter covers the whole thing, and looks rather nice doing so.

Inside, you won’t exactly find some flat vinyl bench, either. Seats are lumbar supported and heated for all passengers. Comfort and technology prevail, from the Dakota Digital gauges to the Vintage Air A/C. And what was once (and still is) an anomaly now lives its life as a killer cruiser. One that’ll turn just as many heads with its custom work as that rarely seen crew cab body.
