Chevy Colorado ZR2 Should be Renamed ‘Super-Truck’!
Steep climbs, sharp drops and massive bumps can’t deter unstoppable Colorado from acing agility course outside Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is one of the few, if not the only, midsize pickup truck that’s actually built to go off-roading. Sure, there are other offerings that may have some extra go-anywhere features over base models, but Chevrolet built the pickup truck with off-roading in mind from the get-go. And for those out there that doubt the Colorado ZR2’s capabilities, this video will put any concerns to rest.
YouTuber The Awesomer, filmed the Colorado ZR2 going through an agility course outside of the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and its impressive. The first test, which requires the truck to go over a cobbled ramp, is meant to reveal how the pickup handles uneven terrain. And the Colorado ZR2 handles it perfectly well. Even with one of its rear wheels hanging roughly 10 feet in the air, the pickup soldiers on with little drama.
The next test, which is a little more respective of what normal Colorado ZR2 owners will go through, sees the truck climbing up a ridiculously steep hill with grates that are meant to simulate one of the tires getting jammed. While some trucks would get stuck, the truck’s front and rear locking electronic differentials send power to the wheels that aren’t stuck to get the truck out of the tricky situation.
The pickup goes through some more tests, with one including getting some air. If the Colorado ZR2 can get through the agility course without any hiccups, it can surely get through whatever the majority of owners put it through.
