Chevy K10 from Friday the 13th Is Anything but Frightful

Chevy K10

Killer Chevy K10 had a fleeting but important role in big-time slasher flick. But it also left us with questions!

That terrifying, horrible, dreaded calendar date has once again arrived, folks. We’re talking about Friday the 13th, a day when everything is bound to go wrong. At the very least. At the very worst, you could be axe murdered by some dude named Jason in a white ski mask. And sure, a lot of bad things have happened on this particular day throughout the course of history. But so have a lot of good things. And hey, it’s worth noting that this badass 1977 Chevy K10 Cheyenne had a starring role in Friday the 13th Part II. So there’s that.

The 1981 followup to the smash hit original slasher flick obviously had big shoes to fill. It’s also when the story starts to take a turn as serial killer Jason Voorhees begins carrying out his revenge for the death of his mother. And his mission was so freaking bloody that over a minute’s worth of footage had to be cut from the original film just so that it could pass as an R-rated flick.

Thankfully, none of that cut footage involved our hero Chevy K10. Driven by “Jeff,” it’s actually the very first vehicle you see in the movie. Jeff’s simply on his way to Packanack Lodge in Crystal Lake, New Jersey, with his lovely girlfriend Sandra. The truck gets towed as a prank before his buddy Ted borrows it, which is sadly the last time we see this sweet Chevy K10.

Which brings up a good point, actually. When will we ever solve the mystery of what happened to Jeff’s truck? Or Ted? These are the kinds of questions we need answers to. Forget about all those other people who went missing in the woods!
