Chevy Suburban Dually Conversion Is One Unique Project

If you’re looking for a project guaranteed to spark conversation everywhere you go, this Chevy Suburban is it.

Like most of you, we’re suckers for interesting and/or unique projects. And we’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff in our adventures around the internet, that’s for sure. But few of those one-off wonders compare to this 2003 Chevy Suburban dually conversion we spotted recently in the Chevrolet Forum Marketplace. Even crazier, apparently somebody makes the kit required to convert your ‘Burb into a quad rear-wheeled steamroller.

Thus, this isn’t the only dually Chevy Suburban in the world. But it’s certainly the first one we’ve ever seen. In addition to the wide fenders, this ‘ute has the appropriate rear axle, front spacers, and even clearance lights. It also has an appropriate set of American Racing wheels that complete the look. And trust us, this thing is going to make people look.

But perhaps the best thing about this beast is what lies under the hood. This particular Chevy Suburban is equipped with the legendary 8.1-liter Vortec, which is a monster of a big block. It’s also relatively rare these days, and quite desirable as it also came paired with the tough 4L85E transmission.  In original spec, these engines were rated at 330 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. The seller, however, has upped that ante with a Bully Dog tuner and K&N filter, so it’s probably good for a bit more.

Thus, this Chevy Suburban dually is certainly an interesting project as it sits. Personally, we’d remove the good old “Calvin peeing on stuff” sticker and all the rest of the decals. Then we’d paint the fenders and just drive the heck out of this thing. If nothing else, it’s guaranteed to be a conversation starter wherever you go!
