Chevy Truck Crashes Into House, Drives Out the Other Side

Like a rock? Chevy barrels through house, but luckily no one is seriously injured.

For some reason, a whole lot of people are driving into buildings and houses these days. Generally, the reason is they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We typically see the outside wall of said building damaged, or sometimes the vehicle makes it into the room adjacent to the wall. But we never, and I mean never, hear of one going through the entire house – from one end to the other.

Until now, that is. Because a 2002 Chevy Silverado in Odesa, Texas slammed into somebody’s kitchen, went straight through the living room, through another wall, and into the back yard. The 47-year old driver of the Chevy truck was obviously intoxicated. And there was an entire family inside at the time, including an 18-month old and six-day old baby. But thankfully, according to News West 9, only the driver suffered any sort of injuries. And they were described as “non-life threatening.”

The entire family was thankfully not in the path of the truck as it did its best Kool-Aid man impression. “We were just laying in bed and then it was a super loud crash,” a family member said. “The whole house shook, I just freaked out, I didn’t know what to do.”

As impressive as it is that the truck made it all the way through the house without stopping, the incident also serves as an important reminder. Driving while under the influence of anything is never a good idea. It usually ends in tragedy, but thankfully this time that wasn’t the case.
