Chevy Van Does Baja in Maximum Comfort (Video)

By -

Apparently, the best way to watch Baja is from a comfy couch. That’s attached to the roof of a Chevy van!

As every Chevy van fan already knows, it doesn’t take much to make an Astro or Express a formidable off-road machine. Just throw on a lift kit, some knobby tires, and maybe a brush guard or winch. It also doesn’t take much to turn one of these vans into a comfy luxury cruiser, either. And that’s the beauty of the modern Chevy van. It’s simply one of the most flexible vehicles on the planet. But judging by this video shared by Brian Riebe, somebody decided to take that reputation to a whole new level. Literally.

Riebe spotted the highly modified Chevy van cruising the sands of Baja. Which, in and of itself, isn’t that unusual. After all, the van appears to be wearing a lift kit, some aftermarket wheels and tires, and a brush guard. And it’s also carrying a passenger. But not in a normal place like the passenger seat, mind you. There’s a guy riding on the freaking roof. While sitting on a freaking couch. That’s attached to the freaking roof.

Sure, our brave (stupid?) soul looks pretty comfy up there. Heck, he even gives a nice little wave as the van flies by. But we don’t need to tell you that this is a very, very bad idea. One that could quickly go from fun to a high speed desert faceplant.

So remember kids, sometimes things that sound cool just aren’t a good idea. And we’re here to tell you, the insides of a Chevy van are plenty comfortable enough. No need to go around risking your life just to go viral. Even if it is a pretty popular thing to do these days.
