2003 Chevrolet Silverado

Longing for a time when regular cab, short bed, manual pickups were cool? Here’s a Silverado sure to fit your bill.

If there’s one thing you rarely see anymore, it’s regular cab, short bed trucks. Which is a little strange for those of us who’ve been into trucks for a long time now. After all, you rarely saw anything other than this configuration. And if you needed more space for stuff to haul, you bought a long bed. But if you long for the days of simple, short trucks with enough room for you and your significant other (and maybe a small human in the middle), this ’03 Silverado is for you.

We spotted the clean pickup for sale in the Chevrolet Forum Marketplace, where it’s currently up for sale. And in case this configuration isn’t rare or old school enough for you, there’s more. It’s also packing a five-speed manual transmission, which is another thing you don’t see very much these days. Throw in four-wheel-drive, and you’ve got quite a unique modern day Silverado. And with a reliable and cheap to work on 4.8-liter LS V8 under the hood, the pluses just keep adding up.

The truck currently has around 191k miles on the clock, but that certainly wouldn’t scare us off given the rock solid drivetrain. And it even comes with two different sets of rolling stock. Including the stock five-star aluminum wheels wearing Michelin tires. And, a very nice set of BFGoodrich off-road rubber wrapped around some steel wheels.

There are a few add-ons as well. They include a painted Leer camper shell, bed rug, and 12 volt power in the bed. The seller has also added a Viper alarm, CB radio, tinted windows, and a stereo system with a Pioneer Bluetooth/navigation head unit. Throw in some aftermarket speakers and an amp, and you’ve got a pretty nice sounding combo.

If you just want a fun and useful pickup to daily drive, this certainly looks like a great choice. So be sure and head over here to check out the full listing and get in contact with the seller!
