Cooper Tire’s Evolution H/T Wins 'New Product' Award at SEMA

Highway tire for pickups & SUVs noted for innovation, technical achievement.

Cooper Tire‘s newest all-season highway tire for crossover vehicles, SUVs, and pickup trucks has been named a New Product Award winner in the tire category at SEMA 2017, which ran from Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 in Las Vegas.

Recognizing outstanding achievements in the development of products being introduced to the automotive specialty equipment market, the new product awards competition reportedly considered nearly 3,000 products in 16 categories.

Available in 28 sizes, the Evolution H/T was noted for its superior innovation; technical achievement; quality and workmanship; consumer appeal and marketability.

“The Evolution H/T is a tire that’s made to perform, offering the perfect combination of a comfortable ride, responsive handling and all-season traction,” says Scott Jamieson, the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company’s Director of Product Management. “As the first tire launched from our new Evolution product line, it’s leading the way in showcasing what Evolution has to offer. We are honored to earn this award from SEMA for this great new tire.”

Among the tire’s features is the Findlay, Ohio-based tire company’s proprietary, strategically-designed 3D Micro-Gauge siping to help maintain wet traction and stability as well as a silica compound to improve grip and handling in both wet and dry conditions and to displace heat to keep the tire cooler. The silica compound also helps shorten braking distance and improve fuel efficiency.

The Evolution H/T was also designed to be quiet, with tread elements uniquely positioned to minimize tire noise, and its tread profile provides even wear and long tread life. The tire also boasts strong hydroplane resistance due to wide water channels that efficiently evacuate water from the tread area and a 60,000-mile warranty.
