So far, 2017 has been a great year for the new Chevrolet Trax, which is continuing to grow off of one of its best sales records from 2016, when Chevy managed to shift 79,016 units. Demand for the Trax is increasing exponentially, which is good for Chevy and drivers looking for a compact SUV, because the new, refreshed model is a gem. Here are five of the best things we like about the 2017 Trax.
1. A Fresh, New Face
The old Trax’s styling was somewhat bland (sorry, Chevy) and did nothing to help the SUV stand out. The vehicle is a prime example of something that’s easy to lose in a congested parking lot. That definitely won’t happen with the new Trax. For 2017, the SUV gets Chevrolet’s new face, which can be found throughout the automaker’s entire lineup. A new grille and headlights bring the Trax into modern times and are quintessential Chevy. You don’t have to like SUVs or crossovers to see that the new Trax is a handsome vehicle. Don’t hate it because it’s beautiful.

Trax may be Chevrolet’s most affordable SUV, but the compact vehicle is packed with a host of enviable equipment that comes standard. Things like a rearview camera, Bluetooth, remote keyless entry, power windows, Apple CarPlay, audio controls on the steering wheel, power exterior mirrors, an auxiliary jack and two USB ports all come standard. And for those that want to be connected to the Internet at all times, the Trax can even be fitted with 4G LTE connectivity, which is something that isn’t offered on the majority of small SUVS.
3. An Affordable Price Tag
The 2016 Trax was the automaker’s lowest-priced SUV, and the new vehicle remains true to the cause by remaining to be the Chevy’s least expensive SUV. The 2017 Trax carries a starting cost of around $22,000 for a front-wheel-drive model. Going for a SUV with all-wheel drive bumps the price up to a reasonable $24,000. And after looking over the Trax’s standard features above, the SUV’s price tag shines as a steal.

As a small SUV, one would expect the Trax to be fuel-efficient, and the vehicle doesn’t disappoint. The Trax, then, is an excellent candidate for drivers looking to save money at the pumps.

The new Trax is affordable, well equipped and fuel efficient, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. Thanks to a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft. of torque, the SUV is fun to drive. Unlike massive, hulking SUVs, the Trax’s compact size makes it a breeze to drive in the city and enjoyable on longer trips on highways, as well.
