Chevy Blazer chassis transplant amps up the power and awesomeness of Richard Rawlings’ freakin’ cool franken-truck.

If you’re a regular viewer of the hit TV show Fast N’ Loud, you already know this build, mainly because the 1967 Camaro monster truck was a big departure from the typical Gas Monkey creation. But despite a few groans from the crew — and probably some viewers — at the outset, you can’t deny the incredible awesomeness of the finished product.

Now, you might still be groaning about the fact that someone would turn a classic muscle car into a mud slinger, and we’d understand. But this Camaro had already received a Chevy Blazer chassis transplant when Gas Monkey maven Richard Rawlings spotted it, so the process was already in forward motion. So, why not bring the thing to life and give it the finishing touches it so deserved?

First, the “monkeys” turned their attention to the massive 454 big block and got her running right. Next, they replaced the worn out tires with a set of massive 44″ Michelin 365/85 20 XZL meats wrapped around Fuel Maverick 20X10 wheels. They rebuilt the suspension and added all the beefy off-road bits a proper monster Camaro might need. And finally, the crew finished things off with a digital camo wrap and refreshed interior.

Despite a few groans from the crew — and probably some viewers — at the outset,
you can’t deny the incredible awesomeness of the finished product.

The result is an incredibly fun and undeniably unique ride. But after piling the monkeys inside and enjoying the Camaro monster truck on some muddy trails, it was time to ship it off to a new home. And when the high-tech redneck build recently rolled across the block at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas, it commanded a respectable $58,300 hammer price. Since we can essentially guarantee that they’ll be piloting the only 1967 Camaro at the local mud pits, we’d say the new owner got a pretty good deal there.
