2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X

Off-road inspired trucks seem to be all the rage these days. It sort of kicked off when Ford introduced the desert pre-runner F-150 SVT Raptor, and now has expanded to the Tundra TRD Pro, the Ram Trucks 1500 Rebel, and others. At the Houston Auto Show this week, GMC showed off a new version of their Sierra that will join the ranks; the 2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X.

Based on the Sierra XLT, the All Terrain X adds a bunch of goodies that you’d most likely add yourself if you were to buy a new truck. The truck has an increased ride height with Rancho monotube shocks. It has chunky Goodyear Wrangler MT DuraTrac tires. It even has a performance exhaust that adds 10 horsepower to the V8 engine (plus, it should make the V8 sound even better).

Lastly, it even adds a roll bar that supports two off-road LED spotlights, and gives the truck a really aggressive look.

Like many of the trucks that we mentioned earlier, the Sierra All Terrain X isn’t designed to be a Raptor fighter. It’s a truck for people who would normally purchase a regular truck, then immediately dump some upgrades into it. Those upgrades may or may not void certain parts of the warranty. The Sierra All Terrain X gives you those upgrades, plus the relability and warranty you’d expect from a General Motors product.

Pricing has yet to be determined and the truck will hit dealerships later this year.
