A Chevy isn’t the ideal place to deliver a baby but one South Carolina family made the best out of a scary situation.

Usually, babies are born in a hospital, surrounded by nurses and doctors that are ready to lend a helping hand if something goes awry. Unfortunately, for the Ackerman family from Fort Mill, S.C., that wasn’t the case for their son, Thomas Allen Ackerman, who was born in a four-door Chevrolet pickup truck, reports The State.

According to the report, J.R. Ackerman, the father of the child, delivered James right off an interstate off-ramp. “I delivered him right in front of the peach trees at Baxter,” says J.R. As The State reports, the mother, Becky Ackerman went into labor less than an hour before the couple began their trip to the hospital.

The situation, as you would expect, was a horrifying one, with J.R. claiming that he freaked out once he realized that they wouldn’t be able to make it to the hospital. While the report doesn’t state what type of Chevy truck the baby was delivered in, The State says that J.R. was on the phone with the 911 operator throughout the entire delivery and was told to keep Becky warm by turning the seat warmers on and by using blankets. The family eventually ended up in a hospital with Becky and the new baby being okay.

Anyone trying to decide whether to get a four-door or a two-door Chevy pickup, the four-door is clearly the choice for those looking to start a family. And make sure it’s got heated seats.
