Alright, we know, this isn’t a Ford truck we’re talking about here, but it is a classic, and more so, it was owned by Steve McQueen, the King of Cool.

Though you probably associate McQueen more with classic Porsches, motorcycles, or maybe even a Bullitt Mustang, he reportedly owned more than 60 vehicles of all shapes and sizes. And it appears he had a bit of a truck thing to, as demonstrated by his vintage 1952 Chevrolet 3800 pickup truck and custom camper shown here.

189562_Side_Profile_WebNow you too can absorb some of the King’s cool through osmosis, cause this baby’s going up on the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Scottsdale, Arizona. And hey, you might just get lucky, because there’s no minimum.

Well, let’s be realistic; we are talking about Steve McQueen here. And this truck wasn’t just sitting around collecting dust in Malibu. McQueen used it for cross-country camping trips. He slept in the thing! You can see why too, as the custom camper features a double bed (with the original mattress), cabinets, drawers, shelves, a diamond-plated bumper, and even a platform on top so you can watch a race along the way, just like McQueen used to do.

Also of note is that he rode with the Rev. Billy Graham in this very truck on the way to the airport for McQueen’s final cancer surgery in Mexico. Which only adds to the history of the car.

The Forrest Green 3800 comes with the original six-cylinder engine, body, and frame. The auction takes place on January 3oth. Will you be bidding?
