When it comes to owning a truck, Chevrolet is always to way to go. Well, we’d say that General Motor is the way to go. They just make great trucks. Though the rigs might not always have the same flare and pizzazz that other companies add to their rides, that’s simply because GM doesn’t need to add these useless additions and strange looks to their rides. Chevy makes some of the best work trucks around, and they don’t need anything more than that fact to wrangle buyers in.

That’s not to sat that Chevy rides don’t look good, but rather that they don’t need useless accessories to draw in a crowd. The sheer number of GM trucks on the road proves this point, and we’re sure any bow tie owner would agree! Chevrolet Forum member Austin (A.K.A.”ahart5530“) certain does, and today we’ll be stepping into his garage and taking a look at the rig that lies within!

Austin is the proud owner of a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche Z71 painted in the unique shade of Sunburst Orange Metallic. The ride looks great, and has been modified tastefully to fit his needs. Austin works at night and lives in the country, so he figured that some light modifications were in order.

He installed 55w HID lights for the low beams and did the 4 HI Headlight mod, which makes the low beams stay on when the high beams are turned on. In addition to this, he installed a 42 inch LED light bar. Unfortunately, an accident involving a deer resulted in $4000 worth of damage, but Austin took the opportunity to install a Ranch Hand Summit bumper in place of the stock one!

Overall, this ride seems to be well cared for and in awesome shape! It’s great to see that Austin has put some much effort into perfecting his ride.

Go check out his garage and leave some comments, browse the photography, and have a great time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured next week on TRUCK YOU!
