Hello all, new member here.
I have a 2020 Equinox LT 1.5 turbo engine. I have been having an issue tracing down a P0498 code. I can clear the code with a scan tool and the code comes right back upon restarting the car. I have checked and replaced the evap vent valve. Checked the ecu fuse and wiring to the evap vent valve. I have not found any problems so far. I have found that if I reset the computer or pulled the ecu fuse and then start the car, the check engine light will be off for as long as the engine is running. If I shut the car off, when I restart it the check engine light comes back on. I am wondering if there may be an issue with the ecm itself. I do not have, nor can a bidirectional scan tool at this time. Could it be that the car needs an ecm refresh? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time and knowledge.
