Engine light - code p262b pending - 2014 Chevrolet Trax
You do realize that reading the code also gives me the ability to delete the code.
No need to take it anywhere, got a hoist right here, first action was to clear the code and run a few experiments but it keeps returning and is still running the same code. Discovered some corroded spark plugs and the need for a new ignition coil thanks to this problem... so double bonus, I suppose, car still running fine. New ECM came in and is sitting here and I suppose we'll get around to that eventually. Did disconnect the autostart in case there was some short or fault with the harness. Still no concrete answer other than putting in and programming a new computer. Which I just don't feel like... at the moment.

To update on this, kept driving with it just fine and never did have any significant problems besides the check engine light-of-doom and code of pending failure. Finally got arouond to it and replaced the ECM this January 1st, reprogrammed, updated, had to reprogram clutch and windows... all is working well and car is driving more smoothly. I had auto-start, which we disconnected in case it caused a short anywhere. Running smooth with new ECM. Cost ended up being around $150 for the ECM and I dont recall what I paid for the subscription.
