1988 k1500 tail lights
#2
The GMT400 series covers 1988 to 1998, and is a single body style. The 1999 year saw a change to the "new" body style (GMT800), and the lights are likely NOT compatible with a 1988 truck.
For what its worth, I've replaced the tail lights on my 1996 fairly inexpensively with lights I found on Amazon that were for the specific year model.

There are tons of lights on Amazon that fit 1988-1998 trucks. Here's a cheap example, at $43 for a pair of tail light assemblies:
Now, if I could just find seat foam or covers for my 1996 Cheyenne with the 60/40 split front seat that easy....
