Hello and thanks in advance for any advice. The transmission in my 1991 chevy truck blew beyond repair and has been sitting for a year now waiting for available funds to materialize... I found a 700R4 trans on FB Marketplace that was the right price and not too far away. Bought in good faith . Owner said it was a working trans. Installed it and everything went well until nothing hooked up to it including the shift linkage.... Apparently it is from a 1987 or maybe 86? Can this be adapted to work in my 91 or is it not worth the effort ? What do I need to make it work? There are even electrical plugs that have no where to plug in. Frustrating to say the least

im not too failure with the 700r4 as to what years went from an mechanical lockup to electrical lockup. from what i understood there was no big differences till the 93 ish model when it went from the 4l60 to the 4l60e. other than that i thought they could be swapped pretty simple. the elctrical plug should be for your lock up since the 700r4 and 4l60 dont rely on a tcu like the 4l60e
