Default 1994 Chevy K1500 Coolant Sensor

Maybe someone can help me out with this. I changed the coolant sensor out in my 5.7 because of rough cold starts in the morning. It seemed to solve the problem but created another. Now the truck is losing power while driving. Long story short, I am still shooting the code 15. After looking over the truck, I found two wires out of the coolant sensor harness that look like they have broke off of something. I cant locate where they went. I have two going to the sensor and two that is joined with a broken piece of metal at the end possibly a ground connection that was broke off. I cut the two wires, joined them back together and grounded them but no luck. Anyone want to take a peek under there hood and clue me in? Thanks in advance

Pretty certain that they were both grounded at the thermostat housing, just sold my 95 so don't have anything to go look at but I remember this same question coming up not too long ago.
