Default 1997 chevy C1500 with 250k miles worth 3k ?

1997 Chevy C1500 -Trade- im looking at trading that truck for my 1992 ford f350 crew cab long bed he says its got all new heads and gaskets as of 10k miles ago What do you guys think ? is it worth it ? if so what should i look for upon meetup ?

That truck wasn't built for 37's that's for sure. Turning those tires with stock gears will destroy a 4l60 pretty fast. Not to mention the strain on the rest of a 1/2 ton drivetrain.

Alright thanks should i ask him if hes changed gears or anything or just avoid that truck ?

If it has (4:10,4:56,or4:88) it should be good. I'd assume the trans has had a rebuild at some point in the last 250k. If it was built right, even better.

If it has stock gears It's got to be pretty gutless with those tires. I had a truck with 33's 3:42 gears behind a 5.7/nv4500 and it seemed gutless to me.

ok got it. Ill check on the gears and such. 4.10s shouldnt have any issue with 37s my ford has 4.10s and burns my 35 inch mud terrains with ease
