Default 1998 vs 1999

So I'm a little confused here. What changed in 99 that's different from a 98? Did the body style change at 99 1/2? My newly purchased 99 Burban looks like the 98's and prior.
Thanks!

Might have been. I know they were still using the 5.7 liter. Then the 5.3 liter came in with lots of piston slap in 2000 or 2001.
