Default 5.7 tbi won’t idle

I have a 1990 c1500 with 133,000 miles and has been sitting for about 10-15 years. I cannot get it it idle it will run once any sort of throttle is put to it once I let off throttle it dies pretty much right away. If I restart it it makes noise for a second or two and dies. Siphoned fuel tank and put new fuel in it currently doesn’t have a fuel filter. And I have good spark. Some people I’ve talked to have said it’s something with the throttle body? I have replaced the IAC on the throttle body and resbuilt it as it was pretty crusty. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Why no fuel filter? It's right there on the frame. 10-15 years, no-run, lots of things, like seals, can go bad. Was it parked outside? The Sun cant have helped if it was. Likely you have a fuel supply condition, including the fuel pump.

I replaced the fuel filter right away when I got it. Then noticed how bad the fuel was so I eliminated the filter in case it was full of stuff. It had been sitting in a garage that was partially open as it had been falling apart. The hood was left open and it was about 2-3 feet away from a window that was broken out. I plan to test fuel pressure soon, but I thought it wasn’t an issue as I can hear it buzzing and it puts a pretty good amount of fuel out at the throttle body feed line

Update:
figured out timing was pretty off on cap and rotor from TDC on cylinder 1. Fixed that and now it barely idles and has no throttle response at all. Have a timing light and cannot find timing mark at any of the settings on the light. Any help again is appreciated

Since its a TBI, it's much like a carburetor. You may have to rebuild it, which is not hard like some carbs were since they have to be re-jetted and a TBI does not. Yeah I'd do a pressure test on the fuel pump.Changing the fuel filter was a good idea. Its unfortunate the hood wasn't closed. Vermin can get in there and foul things up although they can get in there with the hood closed as well.

I have rebuilt the tbi system. I plan to have a code reader tomorrow to see what the computer is saying. I also think my new issue of extremely low idle and no throttle response is because I’m 180 degrees off? Gonna check that next week and replace fuel pump, sender and straps maybe this will help too.

Don't think it would run at all 180 off
