I'm having the same problem with my 94 Chevy 5.7. I keep thinking that maybe the fuel pressure regulator is sticking up possibly. I also was leaning toward ignition coil getting worn out. That is the only problem with these types of issues, there are so many possibilities. I also was thinking about it, we have been on quite a tight budget for a while and run the tank low constantly Wich could cause the pump to wear out. I think I remember replacing the fuel pump a few years back but im quite certain it was a working fuel pump from a 09 Chevy cobalt and the psi is like 55-60 psi and the 94 GMC only uses 9-13 psi. Hadn't had any issues for a long time with it so I'm just wondering if this is my problem. Doesn't the fuel pressure regulator basically regulate the pressure to injectors and send back any unburnt fuel back to the tank
. I decided to get a new fuel pump that wasn't to expensive so I suppose trying one that is made for the vehicle is worth a shot. The plugs have a few little black marks so it seems like it could be that it is getting to much fuel, the fuel mileage has been horrible lately. If anyone has any thoughts or input let me know.

C/K 2500 292k miles.

I have the reverse issue, my truck runs great when cold and for about 30min then it will go into a rich situation, starts ti sputter and stalls. Can usualy get it to crank back up after running starter a few minets. Can smell fuel. Let sit 20 to 30 min cranks up again just fine.

Any Ideas?

There are a few issues with truck I know about, 1 the CAT is bad. It rattles. I have an OBD1 but seems there is no power to it si am unable ti read engin cides. The tail pipe has a few small hiles in it. Replaced the Fuek filter and pump ti no avail. Also replaced the Radiator too as had a seem leak. Oil presher gage pegs the needle but after warm up at idle reads about 35 psi.

Otherwuse for short trips she runs fine. Stong acceleratiin, get about 11mpg alsi has a loose stearing bix with about a inch play both directions.
new plugs
New wires
10 40 oil

Any advice where ti start without breaking the bank is helpful. I am mechanucalt inclined and use to rebuild AMC and Mopar engines in the 80s but am not strong on chevys.

It is a C/K 2500 HD 350 engine with the furst get fuel injection. Where it looks like a carb shape and suze but is fuel injection.

I'm going through this with my 1995 5.7 .. i replaced same things you have and more.i finally noticed on the underside of the coil wire, something had heated it up and melted it. There was one thin copper wire holding it together. During all of this I'm getting black soot out of tailpipe first start of morning. Instant improvement after new coil wire. Not surging anymore either. Only thing I have not replaced yet but have the new part now is the fuel pressure regulator. It's running way better now but im sure after I do the regulator along with 2 new injectors, I shouldn't have any problems.
