My 94 Z71 keeps blowing actuator fuse when shifting to 4wd. I replaced the actuator. It works properly when out of vehicle, but when I screw it back in, the fuse blows when activated. Any help out there?

 

Could be a short in wiring or plugs. A faulty actuator out of the box wouldn't suprise me either. A internal short would ground out when you screw it in.

I've done away with the actuators in all my trucks and put in posi - lock cables. Much more reliable.

 

When I had the actuator out, I clipped a wire to it and grounded it to the truck. No blown fuse
