Default 96 No crank?

My dad recently got his 96 back from sitting for outside for a couple years, it wouldn't crank so we threw a new starter and battery on it. Started fine and ran like a champ after years of sitting. 2-3 weeks of starting it just about every day just fine then out of no where when you turn the key it just clicks. Sound like starter is engaging but not spinning, replaced it again still nothing, stills runs great if you bump start it. We are lost and can't figure it out

Check your grounds, all connections battery to starter. Check battery charge & condition

Check the alternator also, it may not be charging the battery.

Checked grounds they were good, just for kicks decided to jump the starter power wire and just like that it worked. Upon further investigating turns out there was rust/corrosion buildup between the two side post terminals causing an intermittent bad connection which would also explain why one time the battery light was on but the next it wasn't. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
